Weekly racing round-up
In the past week, the team have been racing in the UK, France, the Netherlands and Belgium:
Castle Combe Good Friday Easter Classic (Nat B)
On Good Friday, Lucy Lee secured a stellar victory at the Castle Combe Good Friday Easter Classic. This was a testament to the exceptional teamwork demonstrated alongside Tammy Miller. Strong winds split the field early on, with Lucy and Tammy both on the right side of the split. They worked well together before Lucy launched a strong attack, winning solo. Tammy finished 4th in the sprint from the remainder of the breakaway.
RCR Fatcreations Road Race (Nat B)
Lucy continued her impressive form on Saturday by finishing third at the RCR Fatcreations Road Race.
Capernwray Road Race (Nat B)
Easter Sunday witnessed a remarkable display of teamwork during the Capernwray Road Race. Robyn Clay's solo breakaway culminated in a well-deserved victory, followed closely by Morven Yeoman in second place and Tammy Miller securing the third spot. Lucy Lee finished fifth, her third race in three days, helping secure the team prize. Our title sponsor, Brother UK, are sponsoring the series, making this result extra special.
Elsewhere in Europe
Nora Tveit also raced over the Easter weekend. She finished 4th in Ottergem, 3rd in the Grote Ronde van Gerwen and convincingly won the Wielerronde van Oploo om de Gouden Helm Trofee.
Region Pays de la Loire Tour (UCI 1.2)
The team travelled to France for the Region Pays de la Loire Tour in Samur. Despite encountering early obstacles, teamwork and resilience were on display throughout the race, resulting in a great 5th place for Alice Sharpe.
Mia Griffin faced a setback with an early crash. Morven Yeoman selflessly assisted Mia, helping her work her way back to the peloton, showing both dedication and commitment to our race goals. Although both ultimately had to withdraw, we are incredibly proud of how they rode together. Mia is recovering and thankfully sustained no serious injuries.
As the race progressed, Alice, Robyn Clay, Nora Tveit, and Lucy Lee showcased their capabilities, positioning themselves well and following decisive moves. Alice made the front split of 10 riders over the final steep climb with just 5km to go, finishing an impressive 5th place whilst Robyn won the bunch sprint for 11th. Lucy and Nora were just behind after strong performances, meaning we had four riders inside the top 30.
